While attending Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina, Tyler was introduced to the sport of fly fishing. Shortly after graduating school and with a new found passion for fly fishing he moved to Colorado to further develop his fly fishing skills. Not too long after he landed a guide job in Alaska, and in 2010 he began his guiding career on the world famous Kvichak River in Bristol Bay Alaska. After his first Alaska guide season he moved to Port O Connor, Texas with a goal to become a Texas fly fishing guide on a saltwater fishery. Realizing that the year round, Port O' Connor fly fishing season would allow him to continue guiding during the off season months. After seven seasons in Alaska, and becoming a well season fishing guide, Tyler now runs full and half day charters out of Port O Connor.
