Originally from North Carolina, where the state fish, like Texas, is a red drum. Tyler spent the majority of his youth fishing the coastal stretches of both Carolinas. Being in the southern Appalacahian mountains while acquiring a degree in Community and Regional Planning, at Appalachian State University located in Boone North Carolina, Tyler was introduced to fly fishing. Shortly after graduating school and with a new found passion for fly fishing he moved west to Colorado and the rocky mountains to to further develop his fly fishing skills and become a fishing guide. It didn't take long before the skill set was acquired and the networks established. Not too long after making the move west, Tyler landed his first guide job a little further west and ended up in Alaska. His guiding career started on the world famous Kvichak River in Bristol Bay back in 2010, After spending a total of seven summers in Bristol Bay and wintering down along the Texas coast. Texas was calling and the move was made to establish a Port O' Connor guide service offering sight fishing trips year round.
